Our Commitment to Accurate, Responsible AI Journalism
At Neural Network World, we believe that trust is earned through consistency, transparency, and intellectual honesty. This Editorial Policy outlines the standards, processes, and principles that guide every article, analysis, and news report we publish. We cover one of the fastest-moving fields in technology – and we take that responsibility seriously.
Editorial Independence
Neural Network World maintains full editorial independence. Our coverage decisions are made solely on the basis of newsworthiness, accuracy, and relevance to our readers – not commercial interests, advertiser relationships, or external influence of any kind.
Sponsored content, when published, is clearly labelled as such and is kept separate from our independent editorial content. No advertiser or sponsor has any influence over our reporting, headlines, or editorial positions.
Fact-Checking and Verification Standards
Every article published on Neural Network World is subject to the following verification process:
- Primary sources first: We cite original research papers, official announcements, regulatory filings, and primary data wherever possible. We do not rely solely on secondary or tertiary reports.
- Multi-source confirmation: Significant claims are verified against at least two independent, credible sources before publication.
- Expert review: For technically complex topics – particularly in machine learning research, model benchmarking, or AI safety – we consult subject-matter experts or cross-reference peer-reviewed academic work.
- Date sensitivity: AI developments move quickly. We timestamp all articles clearly and update or annotate content when new information materially changes the story.
- Corrections policy: When we make factual errors, we correct them promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted at the top of the relevant article with a brief explanation of what changed and why.
Use of AI Tools in Our Workflow
Neural Network World covers the AI industry – so we believe in being open about how we use AI tools ourselves.
We use artificial intelligence to assist with the following tasks:
- Research assistance: Summarising large volumes of source material, identifying relevant prior coverage, and surfacing related academic papers.
- Draft generation: AI tools may be used to generate initial article drafts, outlines, or structural suggestions based on verified source material.
- SEO and metadata: AI tools assist with generating meta descriptions, tags, and headline optimisation suggestions.
However, the following are always performed by a human editor:
- Final fact-checking and source verification
- Editorial judgement on what to publish and how to frame it
- Review and approval of all content before it goes live
- All corrections, updates, and editorial decisions
We do not publish AI-generated content that has not been reviewed and approved by a human editor. Our editorial team is accountable for everything that appears on this site.
Source Attribution and Transparency
We link to original sources wherever possible. When we quote individuals, we identify them and their affiliation clearly. Anonymous or unnamed sources are used only when there is a compelling public interest reason and the source’s identity and information have been independently verified to our editorial team’s satisfaction.
We distinguish clearly between:
- News reporting – factual accounts of events
- Analysis and commentary – our editorial interpretation or opinion, labelled as such
- Sponsored content – paid placements, clearly marked
Conflicts of Interest
Our editorial team members disclose any financial interests, personal relationships, or professional affiliations that could create a conflict of interest with a topic they are covering. In such cases, the article is reassigned or the conflict is clearly disclosed to readers.
Neural Network World does not accept free products, services, or travel from companies we cover in exchange for favourable coverage.
Diversity and Inclusion
We are committed to covering the AI field in a way that reflects the full diversity of the people building, regulating, and affected by these technologies. We actively seek out perspectives from researchers, practitioners, and communities that are underrepresented in mainstream technology coverage.
Reader Feedback and Complaints
We welcome feedback from readers. If you believe we have published inaccurate information, violated these editorial standards, or have a correction to submit, please contact us. We aim to respond to all substantive editorial complaints within five business days.
Updates to This Policy
This Editorial Policy is reviewed periodically and updated to reflect changes in our practices, tools, or industry standards. The date of the most recent update is shown below.
